Our journey commenced two decades ago when Frank Schmidt departed from Walmart in August 1999, embarking on the endeavor of establishing Econo-Med Pharmacy. For 13 years, he dutifully served the Spring River community before embracing this new chapter. By February 2000, the doors were open, extending care to patients who had become akin to family to the Schmidts.

Greta, Frank's daughter, began her own trajectory toward pharmacy management even as a sixth-grader. After earning her Bachelor's degree from Arkansas State University in 2009, Greta pursued her education at Harding University College of Pharmacy, culminating in her attainment of a Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2013. Alongside her husband, Eddie, she now resides in Cherokee Village with their three sons and daughter. Greta assumed ownership of the pharmacy upon Frank's retirement in 2015.

The narrative unfolds further in 2017 when Greta and Eddie broadened the Econo-Med Pharmacy family by acquiring a second location in Walnut Ridge. In that same year, Lauren Felts joined our ranks, becoming an integral part of our team. Her dedication was affirmed when she became an official partner in the Walnut Ridge branch in 2019. The collaboration between Greta and Lauren has flourished, with Lauren diligently catering to the healthcare needs of the Walnut Ridge/Hoxie community for six years.
