Our story began 25 years ago! Frank Schmidt left Walmart in August of 1999 to begin the journey of building Econo-Med Pharmacy.  He spent 13 years serving the Spring River area before starting this new adventure.  By February 2000, he was up and running and serving the patients who had become like family to the Schmidts. Frank's daughter, Greta, was only in sixth grade and was already on her journey to running the pharmacy one day. After completing a Bachelor's degree at Arkansas State University in 2009, Greta attended Harding University College of Pharmacy and graduated as a Doctor of Pharmacy in 2013.  She and her husband, Eddie, now live in Cherokee Village with their 3 sons and daughter. Greta bought the pharmacy from Frank after his retirement in 2015.  

The story continued in 2017 when Greta and Eddie expanded the Econo-Med Pharmacy family by purchasing a second pharmacy in Walnut Ridge.  Lauren Felts joined our family that year and joined as an official partner in that location in 2019.  The partnership between Greta and Lauren has worked out beautifully, and Lauren has been working hard to provide excellent service to the Walnut Ridge/ Hoxie area for 6 years.  ​
